Our Approach
Our belief is that a well-structured health evaluation should fulfil the following:
- Assess the individualās present health with care.
- Seek out risks to their future health.
- Communicate the results clearly to them.
- Discuss possible lifestyle changes that are achievable and appropriate to the individual.
- Follow up existing and potential problems.
- We aim to achieve all of this by including the following in our program:
An initial discussion with one of our doctors about any past medical problems and present medical concerns.
- Blood testing carried out on site.
- Urine testing.
- Lung function testing.
- Physical examination.
- Breast examination for females and pap testing as required.
- Resting Electro Cardio Graph (ECG).
- Estimation of arterial elasticity
- Exercise test walking on a treadmill with full ECG monitoring.
- Fitness evaluation.
- Assessment of stress as a potential risk factor and advice about stress management as indicated.
- Full discussion of the results, including the blood test results.
- Discussion about realistic, achievable lifestyle changes.
- Provide a detailed report both in hard copy and on the participant's personal page on our web site
- Access to online programs that support lifestyle changes
- Follow up either by e-mail or personal contact.
The evaluation normally takes between 90 and 120 minutes and is carried out in comfortable surroundings by friendly, efficient medical staff who realise that time is important to their valued clients.
